I am Millie, and welcome to my website.
I understand that there are times when life feels overwhelming. Perhaps something specific has happened, or maybe you're feeling sad, anxious, or low without knowing why. Perhaps you are seeking change or wanting to understand yourself better. At times like these, talking to someone who will listen in a non-judgemental and supportive way can help you make sense of things and find a way forward.
Finding the right counsellor is important, and I hope that my website will help you to make a decision that is right for you. However, if you have any further questions, please do get in touch.
I'm an approachable, warm, and reliable integrative counsellor, trained to use different approaches and counselling techniques, adjusting how we work together to best support you. I'm a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework, undertaking regular supervision and ongoing professional development to help inform and guide my practice.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer with a charitable counselling service, giving me experience supporting people with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-harm, ADHD, neurodiversity, bereavement, and self-esteem concerns. My aim is to build empathetic, non-judgemental relationships within a gentle, discreet, and safe environment where you can feel truly heard and supported.
I offer face to face sessions from a warm and welcoming private counselling space in the beautiful Berkshire countryside. It's easily accessible from Newbury, Hungerford, and Wantage, and parking is available on-site. I'm equally happy to work with you online via Zoom if you would prefer.
I work with individuals aged 18 and above, offering both short-term and open-ended counselling at times that suit you.
I charge £55 per hour, or £45 if you're 25 or under. I realise that looking for a counsellor can feel daunting, and finding the right person is important. To help you make a decision, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. If, following this, you feel that you would like to work with me, we'll arrange to meet in person, or online, to discuss your hopes for therapy and how I work in more detail. If it feels right, we'll then move to regular sessions, usually once a week for 60 minutes.
Sometimes it’s hard to talk to family and friends about what’s bothering you, but there is no need to manage on your own. Talking to a counsellor provides a safe time and place to talk to someone who won’t judge you. It is a chance to make sense of your experiences and understand yourself better. It can help you to recognise unhelpful patterns in the way you think or act, and to find ways to change them (if you choose to). It can help you to resolve complicated feelings, or to find ways to live with them.
I believe counselling is about more than just easing distress - it's an opportunity for growth, self-awareness, and meaningful change. Working collaboratively, I can help you gain a better understanding of what may be preventing you from feeling content and reaching your full potential.
